There is more to a mold or water damage than collecting samples and providing a remediation protocol. Determining the origin, the cause and in some cases the time frame for water damage and/or conditions resulting in mold growth are overlooked. The intent of this workshop is to provide a practical approach for conducting a forensic water damage/mold assessment with the tools and the insight to navigate today’s challenges and litigious environment. The workshop will be broken up into two main discussions: The first being discussions pertaining to the importance of the scientific method, must have equipment and their uses, how to collect background information, insights into conducting an assessment and important aspects of report writing. The second discussion we will look to dive deeper into specific subject matter assessments including building envelope, residential plumbing, HVAC, tile and wood flooring, and the use of sampling.
