Jose is the General Manger for J3 Corp, a group of companies that provide environmental, health and safety, laboratory and consulting services in Central America and the Caribbean. He is an engineer, certified occupational hygienist and safety professional specialized in indoor air quality and infection control in healthcare facilities. Jose is the IAQA Panama Chapter Director and member of the AIHA, ACGIH and ASSP. As a seasoned professional with more than 25 years’ experience, Jose has participated in hundreds of indoor air quality assessments in commercial and residential buildings and various hospitals all over Latin America. Being a civil engineer and certified inspector, he develops and serves as the commissioning agent for Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRA) plans in healthcare facilities, and building renovations. Before that, Jose was the Industrial Safety Manager for the Panama Canal and Maritime Safety Manager for the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama. Jose holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, an MBA and M.Ed. and is fluent in English and Spanish. He was born in Lima, Peru and is based in Panama City, Panama where he lives with his family. In his free time, Jose loves to go boating and deep-water fishing in the Pacific Ocean, hike, and play golf.
